This 3,556 acre Tehama County Ranch has been in the Burrows family for over 90 years.  Under the stewardship of Bill Burrows the Ranch has been thoughtfully improved over the years.  Bill taught agriculture at Shasta College for many years and always applied the best thinking of his time.  Bill developed a management plan of multi uses utilizing the location and resources available.

The ranch is located in the western foothills of Tehama County approximately 20 miles West of Red Bluff and is accessed by a county road.  Power is supplied by Pacific Gas and Electric.

There are three houses on the property. A large shop and equipment shed is located in the compound.  There is a set of excellent working corrals and several barns related to the carrying of livestock.  There is also a cabin dedicated to the hunting operation.  Hunting of primarily deer and hogs has been a part of the ranch operation for many years providing additional income to the operation. There is a large cool room to hang game and meat.

The family has preserved the integrity of the Ranch with a conservation easement to protect it from development and preserving the Oak Woodlands.

Water was a focus of the Ranch over the years and it is abundant, Elder Creek and Red Bank Creek provide miles of year round access to swim, fish and enjoy all of their attributes.  Elder Creek is a trout stream.

There are oven ten ponds on the property developed over the years to provide stock water to all the grazing pastures.  Several of the ponds provide good bass fishing.  

The Ranch in fenced into many separate fields to manage the grazing in a plan to maximize grazing production.  The cattle operation is primarily a winter range concept.  The cattle are brought to the ranch normally around November 15th and are shipped to summer pastures approximately May 15th.  A local cattleman with summer pasture in Oregon has leased the ranches winter grazing for over 25 years.

 The Ranch is in the Williamson Act Ag preserve.  Taxes are approximately $10,700 per year.
